What's the difference between a Face Lift and a Mini Face Lift?
A full face lift addresses the lower face, jawline, and neck with longer incisions around the ear. A mini face lift targets only mild to moderate sagging in the mid face and jawline using shorter incisions in front of the ear.
How long is recovery?
Most people return to social activities and light work within 10 to 14 days. Full recovery and heavy exercise resume after 4 to 6 weeks.
What is the SMAS layer?
The SMAS (Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System) is the underlying layer of muscle and tissue beneath facial skin. Lifting this layer, rather than just tightening skin, creates natural, long lasting results.
Will there be visible scarring?
Scars are hidden along natural skin folds, ear cartilage, and the hairline. They fade into faint, barely noticeable lines over 6 to 12 months.
Can procedures be combined in a single surgery?
Yes. It is common to combine a face lift with a neck lift, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), brow lift, or facial fat transfer in one surgery.
How should I prepare for surgery?
Stop smoking at least 4 weeks before surgery, and avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, and vitamin E for 2 weeks to reduce bruising. Arrange for someone to drive you home and stay with you the first night, and prepare shirts that open at the front, cold compresses, and extra pillows to keep your head raised.
